As a large-scale construction enterprise registered by State Administration for Industry & Commerce on December 18, 2003 and formally established on January 6, 2004, China Railway Sixth Group Co., Ltd. is formed on the basis of former Beijing Railway Construction Group, Taiyuan Railway Construction Group, Hohehot Railway Construction Group and Fengtai Bridge Plant. With a registered capital of 536.28 million Yuan, it is presently manned with 16447 employees and 4081 professional personnel, among them 1667 intermediate and senior technical management personnel, and 666 qualified project managers. The Group is in possession of 4500 professional construction equipments. The Group, with its head office in Beijing, is subordinate to China Railway Engineering Corporation. After merger the Group has Beijing, Taiyuan, Hohehot ,Tianjin, Shijiazhuang Railway Construction Company and Electric Engineering Company, Fengtai Bridge Plant.

　　 Beijing, Taiyuan, Hohehot Company and Fengtai Bridge Plant are all construction and manufacturing enterprises founded in the 50s 20 centuries. After the practice for late 50 years, the group, with great advantage in railway construction, meanwhile devoted to develop all-round market and participated in various engineering projects, including highway, municipal works, house building, water conservancy and electric power, urban light rail transport, etc. And the Group made its own contribution to the national economy growth. For the past years, the Group has undertaken the construction of key national railway lines such as Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Shanhaiguan, Beijing-Qinhuangdao, Beijing-Kowloon, Beijing-Baotou, Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan and completed rehabilitation projects of many pivot station such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan,Baotou, Datong, etc. Furthermore, the group also participated in the construction of Beijing-Qinhuangdao-Shenyang Passenger Dedicated Line (the first PDL for China), and built the Changsha experiment line for magnetic suspension train which is the first line with independent intellectual property in China. Besides, the Group participated in the speed-raising reconstruction project for five times and 1050 rehabilitation works on five key railway lines of Beijing-Shanhaiguan, Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Qinhuangdao, Tianjin-Shanghai, Beijing-Kowloon, Nevertheless, the Group also exerted its strength over many extra large bridges and tunnel construction such as Taiyuan Yu Men Gou Bridge, Bridge of Tianjin –Shanghai (Liuqing) line, Fengtai Bridge of Beijing West Railway Station -Changyang line, Yangquan-Shexian Line Nanta tunnel etc.

　　 In collaboration with China Major Bridge Engineering Group, the Group constructed the first rotation cable-stayed bridge in Beijing in 2003, and the Group participated in the construction of key infrastructure works such as the Beijing fourth, fifth and sixth loop highway, Beijing No.4, No.8, No.10 Metro, and Ba-Tong Line, and constructed many highway works such as Hohehot-Baotou, Ji'nan-Dezhou, Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan , Beijing-Datong line on 107, 108, 109 and 210 national highway, The Group completed many multistoried building and municipal works such as Beijing Railway General Hospital, Zhan Tianyou Memorial Hall, Taiyuan Chaoyang Street Uptown, and etc.

　　 After the practice for years, the Group has obtained advanced construction and testing capacity and accumulated plentiful construction experience on rehabilitation over existing railway lines and construction of new railway lines, tunnel renovation, mechanized track laying, multistoried building, urban light rail (metro), municipal works and expressway. The pass rate of hand-over inspection for all kinds of works completed by the Group reaches 100% and the rate of excellent & good projects finished has always been maintained over 90%. For years, the Group has been issued 8 national top quality project awards and 61 excellent project awards by Ministry of Railways and relevant provinces.
